Spooky season and the #Exhuma movie just came out on Blu-ray! Perfect timing!

I first watched this movie on Easter in a theater. Definitely "rising from the dead" vibes.

Introducing it to Spouse today. The movie is set in a rainy, cold, autumn, which feels perfect for right now.

Engaging and beautifully crafted, I was hooked for a good 90% of the film. As is often the case with Korean films, it has a somewhat lengthy running time, which does not help the film, and the last part feels long and messy. That said, the first 2 hours are a wonderful ride: you deal with the group of shamans trying their best to contain this thing in the moody and stunning Korean countryside, coupled with a depiction of rituals and cultural concepts about death, mourning and historical memory. A very interesting way of dealing with these issues. Well done.
