Heatwave. Ain't No Half Steppin'
Heatwave were a key part of the British soul wave of the late 70s & this is a cracking bit of funkiness (especially on the extended 12" version). Written by Rod Temperton (soon to become Michael Jackson's chief songwriter), this oscillates between funky rhythm & lusher sections, but throughout the funk it in effect & it is just brilliant. There is no half-stepping'!
