My hill to die on: The World Bank is a bank not a development agency.

I learned: (a) The Bank paid for advertising on Twitter; (b) for the Bank, Twitter's value was in marketing more than comms; (c) threats to brand reputation were the catalyst for action.

The Bank is a brilliant case study in marketing: how to rebrand an organisation as something else despite its name saying what it is.

It should be taught in all marketing and MBA programs.

And are vax really the missing piece to drive down cases worldwide, especially in Africa, or are there other elements we’re ignoring? Will the logistics of a vax rollout - especially one with multiple doses & boosters - undermine efficacy? What other considerations should we all be thinking about? #globalhealth #globaldev #malariaeradication

A bit about me as I attempt to get my head around mastodon – I’m a global health security correspondent at the Telegraph, & cover everything from infectious diseases to pandemic prep & development
