At Repair Cafe today I worked on:

A carpet head for a stick vacuum cleaner - it was twisted and jammed. Lube and unjam, easy one to start.

An Evolution 9" angle grinder - A gearbox bearing had exploded, causing the motor brushes to destroy themselves, and then burning out the motor control pack. Scrapped.

A Kenwood Chef - the PCB burnt out. The client found one online and get the replacement for next time.

A fence paint sprayer - the spray plungers her stuck with a bit of paint and some rust. Cleaned and freed up so all working.

Secateurs - Needed a quick adjustment, sharpen, and lube.

Hedge and lawn edging shears - both needed a clean, adjustment, and a sharpen.

A JCB SDS drill - no rotary drive. Everything looks ok, but difficult to see the motion inside the gearbox due to all the grease and it needing to be assembled to test. Out of time, so back to it next month.

Coming back from #Levenshulme Pride in Manchester. So good to spend two whole days with amazing, beautiful queer folk and our friends. Absolute highlight was seeing L as Frank N. Furter singing Sweet Transvestite from Rocky Horror with J and B as Brad and Janet. Just the most gloriously, unforgettably genderfuck thing I’ve ever seen. 🩵🩷🤍

At the Repair Cafe I helped with a postage stamp watermark viewer with a dead PSU.

I then repaired:
A rocking horse
An elephant stool
A fire guard
A Dyson vacuum

Advised on:
A replacement PSU for a DAB radio
A Bosch vacuum
A load of zips
Going to Women's Shed
Other repair cafes

And I taught a chap how to replace the button on his shorts.

It was hectic and busy and I supplied screws and solder where needed.
