Brad Linder<p><strong>ONEXPLAYER G1 is an 8.8 inch mini-laptop for gaming (AMD Strix Point and a detachable keyboard)</strong></p><p>The <strong>ONEXPLAYER G1</strong> is either a mini-laptop that an also be used as a handheld gaming system, or a gaming handheld that can also be used as a general-purpose laptop.</p><p>It’s a compact computer with an 8.8 inch display, an AMD Strix Point processor, and a QWERTY keyboard that’s just (barely) large enough for touch typing. But you can also lift the keyboard and remove it to reveal a set of built-in game controllers and a capacitive touch keyboard that lets you type with your thumbs when holding the G1 in two hands.</p><p></p><p>Handheld PC maker <a href="https://liliputing.com/onegx-2-is-a-handheld-gaming-pc-thats-also-a-mini-laptop/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">One Netbook shared a teaser</a> for the upcoming handheld on Chinese social media a few weeks ago, although at the time the company was calling it the OneGx 2 and positioning it as a follow-up to the OneGx1 mini-laptop that <a href="https://liliputing.com/onegx1-preview-7-inch-mini-laptop-with-cellular-support/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">first launched in 2020</a>.</p><p>Branding the system as a ONEXPLAYER device makes more sense – the company may have gotten its start with mini-laptops, but in recent years One Netbook has put most of its focus on the ONEXPLAYER line of handheld gaming computers. While this new model can be used for both productivity and gaming, I’m not surprised to see the company use its better-known gaming branding.</p> <a href="https://liliputing.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/oxg1_01.jpg" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a> <a href="https://liliputing.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/oxg1_03.jpg" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a> <a href="https://liliputing.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/oxg1_04.jpg" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a> <p>According to an Indiegogo crowdfunding preview page, the ONEXPLAYER G1 will be powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with a 12-core, 24-thread CPU, 16-core RDNA 3.5 graphics, and a 50 TOPS NPU. But I suspect that the system will support <em>up to</em> a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 chip – I wouldn’t be surprised if there are also some lower-cost, lower-performance processor options available.</p><p>There’s no word on how much the ONEXPLAYER G1 will cost or exactly when you’ll be able to buy one yet, but One Netbook has confirmed a few other features.
