A Belgian company unveils a breakthrough process to decontaminate soil.

The head of Haemers Technologies claims to have developed a method that eliminates forever chemicals (PFAS) by heating soil with an oxidation technique.

He aims to eventually offer his solution worldwide.

@FTM_nl Waarom zijn pfas-houdende landbouwgiffen ooit toegestaan, en waarom mag er nog steeds mee worden gespoten op onze voedselgewassen en op de grond waaronder ons drinkwater wordt gewonnen? Om de belangen van bedrijven te dienen, worden we langzaam vergiftigd.

The main cause of contamination is the firefighting foams used in training exercises by the US air force at the Holloman site from about 1970. The single most contaminated individual from the 2024 study was a 1994 specimen of a white-footed mouse, showing pollution had been high for decades.
