#Playlists

A feature I miss on Spotify is the ability to fork a playlist like you can fork repos on GitHub.
I mean, how cool would this be?
My situation:
A friend has a nice Worship Playlist I like listening to. Though some songs are in another language, or just not my style. So what I did is manually add all the songs to a new playlist and remove those I didn't want, and then add songs of my own. But I have to manually monitor if he adds new songs to his playlist, and add them. Same for should he remove a song, though that's not that important.
Forking a playlist could create a playlist on your profile that automatically updates e.g., adds and removes the songs from the main playlist (possibly more settings to customize) while giving you the ability to add and remove songs of your own. So everyone could build their own customized playlist with their preferred songs, without losing the main source. Yes, I know, maybe my use case is just too special for such a feature to actually be useful to anyone else. But I have been thinking about this for months now, and just never got around to posting, so thought I'd finally say this.
#Spotify #Music #Playlists

Since wrapping up my last show, I’ve been chasing down my vices from that misspent youth in the downtime and working time. Missing my #radio time a bit lately, and with interest in building #playlists comes creeping back, so comes the need to play #dj again a wee bit.

Just putting it out there, universe. Thanks for the support.

#Bandcamp adds #Playlists to their site:

bandcamp.com/about_playlists

tl;dr: users can make Playlists, adding any tracks they have purchased. Anyone can stream these playlists, though there are artist-settable limits on the number of times a track can be played before purchasing it, and they are counted. Currently, playlists can only be edited using the mobile app (though web functionality is apparently on the way)

Music stats by Stats.FM 🎶

I've always loved stats, especially if things that I'm very interested in. While many people dislike Spotify for reasons, I still use it. When I find an artist or album I really like, I'll always try to find it on vinyl to add it to my collection. Unfortunately, the last year I've lot been able to get many records. First the expenses for the move and then Arwen started needing more expensive meds. And she is worth it, so I have to be a "bad music fan", until I can find a good deal on  vinyl I really want and order that. I used to get the CD's 💿, but now vinyl is more popular again... Unfortunately, it's also more expensive than a CD. I've not been able to explore all the settings yet, as (when I start writing this) I just got the app. They did have a sale on a lifetime pro, so let's hope it's really a lifetime, and not till the next big overhaul... 🤔 I requested my Spotify stats from Spotify, and I just got them and I imported them to the app. Now, let's explore some! 😉 […]
