As I’m thinking about it, no I will not even try #kde6 on 15.0 because I’m not even trying qt6 (tho there is a gimped package out there), it may be a possibility, but someone else is gonna have to try that. Let me know if you succeed though. ;) #nwgshell #sbo

I’m building myself a special liveslak with the “graphics-updates” built-in and a bunch of the needed stuff in extra as well for the purpose of testing #nwgshell on stable with updates I can’t send to #sbo (they won’t accept anything based on anything not in the main tree or patches). It’s very possible we could have the latest sway & even be able to use Hyprland on 15.0 now. If that’s the case, I may create a special full featured nwg repo for 15.0 for users willing to go down that path.

On Monday, I setup a large VM using 80% of the M4’s resources and pulled ponce’s git, did a sed to change x86_ to aarch and executed “slackrepo build —repo=ponce” and its still going. When done, I plan to share the logs and possibly the packages in the hope that eventually we can get most of SBo building on arm64 in the future. Because eventually there will be a stable release, and eventually, #SBo should be able to be used on arm64 without manually editing every script. #slackwareaarch64

A friend asked me if I could test some changes to “sbopkg” he’d made for aarch64 cuz he has no hardware to test. Sure, I say. Then I realized I have no idea how to use this thing, and I can’t even fathom why it’s popular. It actually makes using #SBo harder. 🤣
