Does anyone use Trellix endpoint security? A partner organization uses Trellix and we discovered that the Defender Firewall service is still running (Get-Service) despite it being disabled in Windows Security. On the contrary, the Defender Antivirus service is stopped. We are trying to get a straight and definitive answer on whether the Defender Firewall service is required for Trellix to function properly. I can find no documentation on this, and Trellix has yet to provide me with a definitive answer. I wanted to buy a license to test this out on my home lab, but they require a minimum of 5 licenses to be purchased (~$750) making this untenable. Has anybody tried stopping the Defender Firewall service to see if it impacts Trellix, or know someone authoritative at Trellix who can answer this question? Any help is appreciated.
