Well that was a faff but not as frustrating as I expected 2 hours ago.

Old tyre came off fairly easily (not a given)!

Old tyre had so much old solid latex in it, that I suspect it prevented new liquid latex from reaching new punctures.

It was really easy to strip out the old latex and try again. But it turned out the old tyre really was that worn, as it had several holes that new sealant wouldn't plug, and nor would anchovies, to the point where the tyre wouldn't seat on the rim. Took that tyre off...

I suspected a fortnight ago the tyre was worn, so bought a new one. Ready in the cupboard to use. New tyre went on and seated really easily so that *should* be it, hoping it stays airtight overnight.

Always remember to replace your tubeless tyres at the weekend, kids!

Tea and a crumpet are calling.

An emotional rollercoaster:

Out riding yesterday and on the way home my power meter started reading 0.

"That's odd," I thought, "I didn't change the battery very long ago."

I went to change the battery and lo, the battery cover had fallen off and disappeared, together with the battery.

This was a significant setback as the manufacturer went out of business and spares are hard to come by.

On the bright side I have just bought a 3D printer, so maybe if I can find a model on the interweb then ... Yes!

So I will be spending part of today printing a new battery cover door, as the final step in commissioning the printer. Cost about 5p. (Ignoring the printer cost )

Now the battery cover also has an O-ring seal behind it. The internet yielded the dimensions and I found some on the interweb for about £5 ... plus £5 p&p. Or I could spend £35 and get free postage.

The salt pattern on the legs is remarkably reminiscent of the designed pattern on the arms!

I went for a 100k🚴to compensate for not going on Thu/Fri mornings when it was ⛸️ risk.

The same gritter passed me 3x in 20 min. When I looked at the salt thrown up on my legs I was reminded of... oh yeah, my arms!

Also a reminder that if you're out on the roads at the moment to 🚿 your🚲 down when you return!
