@morgfair Is this the only thing that Metro has accomplished in preparation for the 2028 Olympics... digital billboards to bring in new revenue? We fought these in Westwood & the company had to take a dozen of these down because they didn't get city permission and they are a horrible blight for the neighborhood. #lightpollution #blight

#potato #blight update:
Today, I lifted more of the taties I've left in the ground, foliage removed, after they caught blight.
Not sure if I would follow the advice of leading TV gardeners on this again. The ones I lifted before were mainly ok. A few rotted in storage.
The ones today were partly just disgusting mush.
With foliage removed, I didn't know exactly where to place my fork. So quite a few of the enormous spuds were speared with the fork in the process.

Blight fungi: The coming pandemic that could wipe out our crops. In her book Blight, environmental toxicologist Emily Monosson warns that a group of fungi called blight could cause a global food crisis. Blight fungi are fast-spreading, hard-to-control and resistant to fungicides. They can infect and destroy many crops, such as wheat, rice, corn and potatoes. #blight #foodsecurity #fungi nextbigideaclub.com/magazine/b

Fungal pathogens are becoming more deadly and widespread due to human activities. The author of Blight, a new book on the topic, explains how agriculture, trade, and climate change have created ideal conditions for fungi to evolve and infect plants, animals, and people. The book also offers some solutions to prevent and mitigate the impacts of fungal diseases on our health and food security. #fungi #blight #book grist.org/health/the-author-of
