Really interesting minuteEarth video on the concept of aftermath death, the math on most disasters is that the initial disaster only kills about 0.5% of the total who eventually die from the resultant destruction to infrastructure. This applies also to war, most people killed in Iraq didn't die in the war, they died from the destruction to the civil systems. #science #disasters #war
