So yesterday I took my mum to the dentist and waited in the park while she had her procedures. She's fine by the way. Anyway, I went for a walk around the lake. It is Lake Jualbap and it's quite good for birds and shelter if it rains which it did, I sat down at a picnic table which had a shelter and started to draw on the little complimentary notepad that Pelikan gave us at the Pelikan hub.

I had my Pilot Diplomat loaded with one of the Inkvent inks from Diamine which is called Grotto. It is one of the ink vent inks that I got recently but have not used much. I also had my Conklin pen filled with the lovely Cosmic glow from the Inkvent inks. So I started drawing a serpentine dragon to play with the inks and fill in some time. The diamond looks like a rusty brown but has a greeny gold sheen in the light.

There were a couple of mothers at the park with their children having a playdate and soon I was surrounded by very interested intelligent 6-year-olds who were thrilled to see someone drawing and interested in the ink and everything. The mothers admired my patience with them but I said I know that when I go home they won't be there. I admired them because they don't get to escape. The children were so enthusiastic. It was quite heartening to see them enjoying someone not using a computer to make an image. They were very thrilled and we all had a great time.

I've just put the finishing touches to it and here it is for everyone to enjoy.

This Mermaid was drawn using a dip pen, and Diamine's Upon A Star Chameleon shimmer ink.
The Chameleon inks are really hard for me to photograph, they're sparkly, but very tiny sparkles,
and on a rainy day like today there's no sunlight.

My phone light does bring them out, but without bringing out a real camera it's probably a lost cause, and I would rather just get it posted. If you look at the close up of the tail you can see that it's got quite a sheen going on, and also I did manage to capture a tiny tiny sparkle. There's more there, really, but I just can't get it to show.

and caught me as I was going out to MerMay and and suggested it as a prompt for today's drawing. You can read it and see if I caught the mood. Drawn with a water brush and three fountain pens. The rashy is done with Memory Lane, which is a shimmer, also seen Golden Lapis and Azure Kingfisher, and for the skin tone it's Robert Oster Terra Fuego I think.

Is it still #Drawingwithoutanet if I've drawn an actual net?

Some very restrained nudity for today's merwoman. Her top half is nude, some breast visible beneath her arms.

So the Best Wishes Ink from Diamine is both a sheen and a shimmer, I caught some of the sparkle, and you might see a red sheen on this dark green, almost black ink.

This narwhal mer is pleased to meet the deep sea mer. They've had some fights in their past, and all they have to say when asked about the scars was that they survived, and it wasn't all from other narwhal mer.

Drawn with the same nib you saw yesterday, this time it's Diamine's Spruce. It's scented, so sniff the screen hard and you might get a soapy pine fragrance.
I wouldn't though, it's honestly not that pleasant.
I am very tired due to Eurovision being 3am my time.
