Degradations continued in the West, especially in areas from northwest Colorado through the Pacific Northwest. Scattered areas of degradation also occurred in eastern Tennessee, parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Puerto Rico.
Improvements occurred in Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska. Mixed conditions occurred in parts of the Midwest and High Plains, plus Alaska and Hawaii.

US Drought Monitor 7-3-25
For the 50 states and Puerto Rico, the US Drought Monitor shows 27.3% in moderate drought or worse, compared to 25.83% last week.
Drought expanded over a broad swath of the Pacific Northwest area with pockets of improvement in the Midwest. Drought covered 30.66% of the continental US, an increase of 0.63 points from last week.
