Oh, game 6, I played Maelstrom Wanderer. On turn 2 I destroyed a Land Tax and the player instantly scooped. I felt a little bad, but also, lol Foundation Breaker was player removal.
I was then sort of archenemy against the other 2. I kept casting MW and they kept killing it… so I would cast it again for more value lmao. I ended up stabilizing with a big board and crushing them w/ Overwhelming Stampede. #MagicTheGathering#EDH
Game 1: I played the Counter Intelligence precon, won by not being threatening until I was suddenly threatening. Game 2: I played Ziatora, won by crushing the table with a 96/96 trampling Fungus token. Games 3,4: Dandan! Somehow I won both. Fun format. Game 5: I played Galadriel, I wasn’t aggressive enough and ended up getting combo’d by Helm of Obedience and RiP, it milled my whole library.
Had a great time today at Commander Saturday at an LGS in Billings! Got to jump in with an established group of fun people.
I also got introduced to the "Dandan" format of Magic. 2 players share a library and graveyard, and the only way to win is to deal damage with a terrible creature. It was really fun, you should try it!! https://moxfield.com/decks/CsFDriThmEGanyZ5YpOunQ
What's our opinion on the Edge of Eternities Commander precons? I'm very tempted to preorder the Counter Intelligence precon from my LGS.
I don't own any artifact decks, and this seems like a quality build. Lots of counter synergy, lots of draw, 40 lands by default (my ideal base# of lands). I would probs cut some of the high mana value pieces and add more cheap interaction.
This book is going to become a deck box. My question for my fellow Magic the Gathering players is... What kind of commander deck should be contained inside?
People at my local game shop keep calling my commander deck "elf ball."
It is not elf ball. It's mono green and has elves, mostly for mana production, but it does its own thing with that mana.
I looked up a bunch of elf ball & elf tribal decks on Moxfield. The closest any of them get is still less than half the same cards, including 20 forests. Most decks were less than a quarter shared (non-forest) cards.
So no, it is NOT elf ball, thank you very much. It's called Mana Shenanigans.
Want to pack less tokens for #MCVegas to leave room for more decks? Come grab yourself a pack of InfiniTokens dry erase tokens from our booth in Vegas.
One small pack can cover any and every token you can possibly need!
Adding some common RNG needs to One Is Not None. Tried to keep them just one tap away. Also added some icons to the list items in this screen for visual pop and glanceability.
After a bit of a break from development, I'm back at it with a little improvement I've wanted from the beginning: counter icons! I even have a little Easter egg for the speed icon. It goes up with the counters
Lately I’m feeling less satisfied with commanders that are engines, and more interested in commanders that are directly part of a win condition.
I feel like I am more likely to win games if I build around commanders that are offensive threats - because they’re big and evasive and scary, or they have abilities that advance my board state to an extent that I win, or both.
Took a little break but I’m back at it working on building my #MagicTheGathering search tool for iOS. This time I’ve made it so that the syntax tree isn't strictly binary. Each "All of" or “Any of" query can have many children!
