@FreeCAD I've printed the design today. It worked flawlessly without support. Yes, the detailed contact area of the tilt support might be over-engineered for a FDM printer with a 0.4 mm nozzle. But isn't there a saying? You can never be overdressed or over-engineered (or something like that). However, it fits great. I'm going to add a rubber strip between the printed part and the light but otherwise, that's it (apart from publishing the model -> 2do list 😬 )

@e_es Schön, dass es geklappt hat! Falls du an Tipps interessiert bist: Ich empfehle dringend Sketche immer vollständig zu bemaßen. Auch die Bevorzugung von Hilfsgeometrien und geometrischen Beschränkungen zu Gunsten von weniger Bemaßungen empfehle ich gerne. Beispiel anbei.

@Hippie Thanks for sharing your model! Very interesting. What kind of metal are you going to use? Are you goign to create technical drawings via the TechDraw WB too?

Regarding your model:
1. It's a common way to arrange the different Bodys the way you did. Another approach would be to use the new integrated Assembly WB (available in the latest development version or the release clients for the upcoming v1.0 release).

Today, I gave a #workshop for beginners in #3dcad using #FreeCAD. As usual, I forgot to take pictures. Too bad that I'm the one who's telling everybody to take pictures during their workshops... 🙄

The age of the participants ranged from 12 years old and serious retiree. Great mix and a lot of fun. Thank you!

Bonus: It's #linuxpresentationday 🐧! I've used #Ubuntu #Linux for my workshop + installed #libreoffice on one participants PC + canceled the M$ 365 subscription 👩‍💻💪

Today's project was a stand for a set of watchmaker's screwdrivers. I made two variations because I'm not sure exactly what height I prefer working at and I wanted to try both a low entry and a high entry option.

As I mentioned earlier, @FreeCAD 1.0RC1 was a delight today and made this super easy.

A set of six watchmakers screwdrivers sitting evenly spaced along a row in a mostly *vertical* orientation in a simple 3d printed stand, on a workbench. The screwdrivers are only identified by the color of the knob at the end of the screwdriver. Behind each screwdriver is a container for spare tips for each size. The containers have a rubber o-ring around each that matches the corresponding screwdriver knob. A small Iggy the Bigfoot logo graces the front of the stand. An ST36 pocket watch movement sits in a 3d printed movement holder in the foreground, in the background is a Weishi No. 1000 timegrapher.
