I'm thinking of retiring my 10-year-old 6th gen Intel NUC as a mini headless PC since it's getting too old and switching to a Mac Mini. Even the base model should be more than enough. I'll be running Docker containers and hosting my internal network and streaming apps on it.

Anyone using a setup like this? How’s your experience?

I have an old NUC 11 that I think is failing. I run ESXi on it, the free version. It has 32GB of ram, 1x 1TB SSD and 1x 2TB SSD. Can anyone recommend a good replacement?

I am sure a lot of people will also recommend Proxmox over ESXi, but I have to run some images that are only ESXi.

Any suggestions would be most welcome

My NUC 8 is still going strong, but the fan seems to start acting up around the 2 year mark. Thankfully it doesn't catastrophically fail. It just starts making unpleasant noises at certain speeds.

Still, I guess predictable failure is better than unpredictable failure.

Has anyone used an Intel NUC Kit model NUC10FNK for their #homelab ?

I need some guidance of anyone can help.

I'm attempting to install Windows Server 2022 on an Intel NUC Kit and after installing the OS and checking on device manager I see several unknown devices or devices that have not loaded or installed correctly.

After visiting the ASUS site that is now supporting this product I've downloaded the various Windows 10 and 11 drivers for various devices. I've updated the firmware and Intel ME. Ater installing the various device drivers there are still 4 items that show as not installed and I can't figure out yet what they are and how to get them recognized.

I'm thinking I'll have to get into the BIOS and disable a few items that doesn't seem to be in the Device Manager listing, but I'd rather have everything working if possible.

Has anyone ever gotten all the devices loaded correctly?
