We have had something of a hiatus with our events run by and hosted at the . This was because of insurance issues... All sorted now. As there was a bit of a repair backlog our first event was invite only and held last Saturday with no pre publicity.

We had 23 items come to our "mini" repair cafe and a success rate (items either repaired or advised on how to repair) of 80%.

Hopefully we will be arranging another event very soon.

The open front door of the Hitchin Hackspace is in the centre of the image. The Hackspace is a single storey brick built building, a former public convenience. Just to the right of the door is a small square topped folding table with some handouts and flyers on it. To the right of the table is a "pop-up" banner about 2m tall with photos and information about the repair cafe events.
A mechanical typewriter in need of some tlc is stood on a workbench. It's outer casing has been removed and the person holding the machine is working on the carriage of the typewriter. Their fingers show signs that the typewriter may have had a nibble / resisted the efforts to fix it.
Another repair candidate, this time a sewing machine is being worked on. The lower bobbin compartment is open. The foot pedal is on the bench to the right in the foreground.

#Invent Day 25, Good Tidings. A cool toned black, almost blue-black with a deep green sheen. I really love this one and I know I will use it a lot. It’s so goth and witchy. I stopped posting these, though I did do a sketch for them all. (If anyone wants to see a sketch for a particular Diamine Inkvent ink, let me know.) This swatch is on Mnemosyne paper. Sample was done with a brush, a glass dip pen and Zebra G nib dip pen. #FountainPens #inkswatch
