I don't know what it's going to take for a bipartisan pro-genocide media establishment to accept that Trump is definitely trying to help Israel finish off its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza before international sanctions come pouring it, if what we've already seen the Trump administration do hasn't generated that realization or level of honesty on its own. Take for example the regime sanctioning International Criminal Court judges for authorizing an investigation into allegations of torture conduced by US troops in Afghanistan, and issuing warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for crimes against humanity his government definitely committed, on livestream, over and over again.

Rubio, Trump Accused of Criminal Obstruction for Sanctioning ICC Judges

"Two of the sanctioned judges authorized a probe of U.S. war crimes in Afghanistan. The other two green-lighted warrants for the arrest of Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, his former defense minister, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, including weaponized starvation and the murder of Palestinians—at least 54,607 of whom have been killed since Israel began its assault and siege of Gaza following the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The ICC's Assembly of State Parties—the court's governing body—said in a statement Friday that the U.S. sanctions are a "regrettable" effort to "impede the court and its personnel in the exercise of their independent judicial functions.

Kenneth Roth, a professor at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and former director of Human Rights Watch, on Friday accused Trump and Rubio of "obstructing justice under Article 70 of the Rome Statute," the treaty establishing and governing the ICC."

As the numerous human rights officials and observers in this article noted, it's pretty much impossible to see Rubio's actions here as anything other than a flat rejection of international law, in the service of protecting American's presumed "right" to commit war crimes, and our ally Israel's presumed "right" to conduct an ongoing genocide in Gaza. If the larger pro-genocide US establishment were merely duped by anti-terrorist sentiments, Israeli propaganda, and the fog of war, this should be a moment (one of many) where they turn and look at each other to ask "Hans, are we the baddies?" Even at the height of the War on Terror, similar legal criticism of the Bush regime promoted widespread discussion about the legality of what we were doing in Afghanistan and Iraq, even if it did little to stop our disastrous imperialist forever wars. Instead, Rubio's ongoing efforts to demonize and sanction international court judges barely rate a blip on the mainstream media radar screen as the genocide in Gaza rages on.

Folks, we *are* the Nazis history was trying to warn us about; and that couldn't be any clearer now that reality TV Nazi Trump is the one enabling Israel's genocide in Gaza instead of dotard weepy Zionist Joe Biden. The media and opinion-makers in our discourse aren't living in a cave; they know all the same things you do about how Trump is ensuring as many Palestinians die as possible before Israel starts facing nation-altering consequences for its crimes against humanity. What they, and the foreign policy goblins in the Trump administration are all clearly hoping, is that by stringing you along with a "will he or won't he game" about Downmarket Mussolini's willingness to allow the genocide to happen, Israel can kill enough Palestinians to allow facts on the ground to render the debate about stopping the genocide irrelevant.
