After much frustration, I finally finished Super Metroid entirely. Up until now, I had gotten far in the game but never outright beat it. Before now, the only Metroid game I completely beat was Zero Mission.

Great game (and a very solid ending) but man, there are certain segments that get me wanting to rip out my hair :terry_nono:

Say, Ridley, I could have sworn I left a baby Metroid right here. You wouldn't happen to know where that little scamp went to?

The very few sins of #SuperMetroid:

- Reserve Energy tanks were not THAT useful
- Beam combinations was a pain to manage
- Moonwalking is difficult
- X-Ray is a very slow way to scan the room
- Item switching is a pain

If there is one remake on the pipeline, it would be great to rework these to be useful. I'll always support the idea of having a movement system that's approachable but with a high ceiling (ie, wall jumping).

i'm tired of these half-assed game porting efforts. i understand that maybe not every game in a series can be remade immediately, but the entire series should still be accessible on modern platforms. at this point, i'd rather go for retro consoles instead. #gaming #nintendo #mario #metroid

Okay taking some things back.

Some things are incredible stupid designed like the bomb mechanic that incentives you to bomb everything to find a way or sometimes that you see a solid wall and there is actually a invisible path hidden.

wtf
