my friend printed up the drive tray, which doesn't use screws and just rests in place with the hollow legs over the screw terminals for the original caddy. it does accommodate the second NVMe stick though.

I may put a lil foam on top of the SSD to smush against the lid and press it a little more firmly into place.

one of the solid legs rests on the CR2032 battery socket, the other on the mobo where there are no SMD components - there are a couple vias, though.

this model was made for the gen4 #EliteDesk Mini, I have a gen5 but those two generations are mostly the same when it comes to the drive caddy. #miniPC #DIY

Still haven’t seen a #MiniPC that’s worth the money aside from the #MacMiniM4.

I believe the #SteamDeck and other handleds have taken the spotlight. For $500 you can get a decent portable gaming device.

From $1,000 you get into entry-level gaming laptop territory and that’s it. There is no room for Mini PC anymore above $300, where you start to find second hand Mac Mini. The 128GB HX 390 is niche.

We had a great experience at #DebConf25!

We brought our two laptop models and our brand new NUC Box with Dasharo coreboot firmware.

It was great to see how much recognition and interest there was. Between the tech talks and hallway chats, we really enjoyed the spirit of the Debian community.

🙏 Thanks to everyone who visited our stand!
📅 Any recommendations for other FOSS conferences we should join?

This weekend I got #proxmox running with a #Debian #docker container running #frigate and a virtual machine running #HomeAssistant on a #BeeLink #EQi12 #miniPC.

I have HA triggering a snapshot every 2 minutes and saving it locally. The next step is to get the snapshots to be on a rolling index that overwrites the old files. Then I need to figure out how to push the files up to an SFTP or similar web server.

I do have Frigate auto detecting but there's still more to do there.
