Lens-Artists Challenge #352: Mellow
This week Sofia from Photographias is hosting the Challenge, and her theme is, ‘Mellow‘. ‘After the wonderful Books theme from last week’, says Sofia, ‘I invite you to continue in a relaxing mood … However, I want to focus on a different mellowness: a sense of softness …’. When I think of mellow, aside from the name of the Donovan song, ‘Mellow Yellow’ — which I don’t think I would recognise until I heard it, I think of being chill, or relaxed. When I go for my constitutional, or a ‘walk around the block’, or a trip to Aveiro, my Better Half sometimes gets a little nervous. That something might happen to me while I’m walking alone around the fields and in the woods.
In order to ease her worries, to get her to ‘mellow out’ (a term that I would never use but it fits with the theme of the Challenge), I’ll pause somewhere and take a close up of a flower with my smartphone. I’ll then WhatsApp her the image with the message, ‘A flower for My Baby xxx’. Taken over the past couple of years, here are a few of these images. It also just happens that these are (mostly) yellow.
Themes for the Lens-Artists Challenge are posted each Saturday at 12:00 noon EST (which is 4pm, GMT) and anyone who wants to take part can post their images during the week. If you want to know more about the Challenge, details can be found here, and entries can be found on the WordPress reader using the tag ‘Lens-Artists’.
