#Perseverance is getting ready to acquire another sample of Martian rock, this time one with that interesting purple-sh coating.

How do we know? Well, the laser blasted 'L' on its surface is the tell-tail; its asymmetry guarantees unambiguous orientation of a sample.

📸 Perseverance Selfie with Ingenuity
On Sol 46 (April 6, 2021), NASA’s Perseverance rover took its first selfie on Mars. Using the WATSON camera, 62 images were stitched into one detailed mosaic. Ingenuity, the Mars helicopter, stands 4 meters away. It completed its final flight on Jan 18, 2024.
