In looking at the "off vintage" comments, I'm reminded of the nasty article I once wrote on the failure of producers to declare the 2015 vintage. If any of you happen to be members of the RP site I once worked for, this might interest you. It is behind a paywall, however. I can't do anything about that. But in short, there can be fine drinking in off vintages.

This 2012 single-quinta Port from a famous duo (J. Portugal Ramos and Jose Maria Soares Franco, former winemaker for Barca Velha) is mostly Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, on the sweeter side and rather accessible. But it has structure, firmness on the finish, even if it seems elegant and sexy. Plum-laced and delicious, it adds mid-palate finesse too.

Nice value from an off-vintage. Can hold for more decades if you must. $50-ish.
