Tonight's race from Nashville was intense. The new iRacing update created a unique situation where all drivers went into the race with many unknowns regarding tires, handling, and aero. We managed to get ahead of the curve early with a strong showing in stage 1, but stepped over the limit and spun (with minimal contact) in stage 2.

With some pit strategy, we were back up front leading in the final stage, and running 2nd with 15 laps to go. And then, disaster... iRacing froze and we were disconnected. Luckily, this didn't cause damage to the car as it happened under caution, and we were able to rejoin, albeit 3 laps down. We rode around until the end finishing in 14th - a result not indicative of our performance.

Because of the sim crashing, we don't have any photos to share of the race.

Next week, we have our final round of double-headers, with Michigan on Monday, followed by Road America on Tuesday.

We're rolling out a special paint for our next couple of races starting Monday night at Charlotte - inspired by Dale Earnhardt's Peter Max designed car from 2000.

Taking inspiration from Peter Max seemed more than fitting, given the fact that he has, for many years, used his work and status to champion animal rights and human rights causes, and is #Vegan.

In a 2010 interview with the Vegetarian Times, Max said, "I’m completely an animal rights person. I would like animals not to suffer so much at the hands of humanity. I believe that in due time, human beings will respect other animals. (The ancient Greek physician) Hippocrates once said, “All souls are the same, just our bodies are different.” If people could really take that in and understand it, then they would respect a moth, a bug. If I see a bug crawling on the floor, I rush to the bug before my kitties get to him. I pick him up, take him to the park, and let him out where there are green plants and maybe a little bit of water so he doesn’t have to walk too far. I feel so good every time I do it. I tell you, it’s an overwhelming feeling. The bug is so small, and the feeling so huge."
