Just in case you might have forgotten this is still #Trump opinion that #Canada = #51ststate
Trump still wants Canada as 51st state, White House tells CBC News
cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.672

You must do everything you can to stop this, buy #Canadian as much as possible. #vote Choose the Leader you know will defend you from Trump and a hostile American administration. Write your provincial, federal , even your civic representatives- tell them #elbowsup #cdnpoli #Canadadefence #CanadaStrong

I clocked how long it took to allow one person to vote. It took 1:36. There were two voting booths, one for each poll. There was a line of maybe close to 100 people for each poll. Which checks out, because it took us slightly more that 1.5 hours to get in and out. Lucky we went before the rain started, as the line was 2/3 outside the poling station. I've been voting since 1978, and I think that's the longest I've ever waited. Considering the stakes I would wait longer. #vote

Normal person leaving the election polling station: looking relieved that it's over and contemplating on getting home and figuring out what to do next.

Me leaving the polling station: Staggering out and squinting while looking around as if I hadn't seen the sun in three weeks and proceeding to ask some random person near the back of the line if it was still the year 2025.

(Line was about 45 minutes)

#ElbowsUp #canada - #poilievre is promising he’s not trump, while pushing his policies, while trying to win #elxn2025 without a #SecurityClearance.

Dont let your friends and family fall for it. #vote and don’t count on #cdnmedia ‘s version of events - get out there, because the stakes have never been this high.

I’ve never seen our local polling station so busy. It’s the first day and the street is lined with cars and the lineup goes around the community centre. We live in a rural area so this is unexpected. We voted at the nearest elections Canada centre on Wednesday so I get to have a Guinness and hot dogs around my fire and scroll Mastodon as a reward for good planning. #election #vote #Canada
