*** Love Your Enemy ***
(2024 - Viki 12 1:10 eps)

[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]

A trope-filled romcom about rivals since birth. They meet again at their old school as teacher & admin. The old relationship battles begin again.

Both MLs were great, but FLs fell flat. The saving grace in this drama is the backstory. Both of the young leads are fabulous & their chemistry can be felt!

It had a lot of potential, but every storyline seemed to miss the mark & it feels like they pulled problems out of a hat to fill space. Fun cameos & FL's grandpa is a great character, with a couple of his own storylines but neither end up being what they should have been. The love triangle is handled well & there are some funny moments if you aren't looking for reality.

It did make me interested in Ju Ji Hoon's other work & I will be on the lookout for those young actors.

The actors who play the young versions have amazing chemistry - I'd love to see a drama with just them!

The adults are childish & silly, can't communicate & don't observe boundaries - but do grow. It's cute, but mostly predictable. The comedy is also mostly silly. It is one of those that grows on you.

It's very good for a break between more intense dramas.

Day 27 - A 2024 drama too few people watched?

"Love Your Enemy"

There is not much buzz about this one on social media, but it's much better than I thought it would be. A light, pretty silly, enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers story with a couple of "villains" to hate. It could be a good comfort watch.

Started watching "Love Your Enemy" with Ju Ji Hoon & Jung Yu Mi because I wanted a light romcom to balance out the other shows I'm watching.

What a fun show! In eps 1, up & coming lead actors Bae Hyeon Seong ("Family by Choice") & Moon Sang Min ("Cinderella at 2 AM") play some unexpected characters in one crazy scene - hilarious!

Also, 10cm (of "Lovely Runner" "Spring Snow" song fame) has a song for the OST (which is turning out to be really good) called "Be in Love" and in one eps. he's a street performer, singing this song!

The lead couple's lack of communication & childishness was annoying at first, but it's so OTT that it's become funny now. The high-school version of the lead couple has great chemistry. I haven't felt it yet for the adult couple, but they still hate each other, so maybe that will change.

With a couple of characters you love to hate & one suspicious assistant, there's enough to keep things interesting so far. Only 6 out of 12 episodes out right now.
