In my experience, this is 99.9% true for any problem solving.
Look at a problem, see what's going on.
Let that stew in the background for a couple hours or more.
Think about the problem a bit.
<Perhaps talk about the problem with an associate, preferably one with no knowledge of the issue. These people are hard to find as most folks don't like talking about other people's problems that they can do nothing about.>
