I have a stack of the inherited records whose genre I couldn’t figure out from the album cover and artist name, so I’m playing them so that they may be shelved appropriately.

This one turns out to be sort of midcentury lounge jazz (not an official genre); Acker Bilk was an English clarinettist. Seems more like evening cocktail music than tea music to me, but it’s no longer 1967.

I ended up playing jazz clarinet as a teenager, having no memory of listening to any of my father's numerous jazz clarinet albums (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman).
