I've been using #Syncthing for the last year or 2 on my #Windows computer and #Android phone, but I recently moved to #Linux. So naturally, I need to redo everything.
Not that I am necessarily looking for something else, I live Syncthing, just because I am going through the effort. Does someone else recommend something similar?
I currently don't have the setup to create a #Nextcloud instance. Thus, Syncthing was a great solution. I just want to see what else #opensource has to offer.
@Stark9837 what are you missing from your setup that would allow #nextcloud? It is not just a great files sync service; it's actually helping me completely #breakupwithgoogle.
My #RaspberryPi is currently already in use, and I don't want to load it too much as it is used for my 3D printing. And then I also don't have the correct storage solution for it.
I have an extra desktop, but I don't have backup power for it now.
So I like the idea of #Syncthing. It is there when I want and need it. I use it more for transfering files than syncing. But syncing is an added benefit. I most want transfers between my personal laptop and personal phone.
@Stark9837 depending on your model of Pi you might be fine. I ran #nextcloud on a 3B+ with several other services (part of my home k3s cluster is on Pis). I wouldn't use it for the AI capabilities, but for all the normal stuff it should be fine.
And the best storage solution for Pis like that is probably USB drives, tbh.
