Honestly, here's how I search my own toots.
I use https://justmytoots.com/
I don't know if @cookie_mumbles is still maintaining it, but it still works! 
It is *entirely* opt in, stores nothing of your content, and blocks search engines from crawling it.
It just looks at your server, and displays a current list of your toots.
You can adjust view options like: public only, with replies, or only media.

To search I just scroll *down* the page a lot, then use my browser to search the page! 
My page looks like this:

Or with replies:

To enable it, just put your handle at the end of the link like mine is, and put it in your bio. It will only display while that permission exists!
(If you specify *with replies* or *media only* etc, it will lock viewers to that, giving you more control.)

Ps, login is completely optional. It's really for viewing other people's feeds, if you want to like or boost from there.
Everything else functions with no login!

@cookie_mumbles I just followed someone's link from their bio on mastodon.social to justthetoots, and it's coming up blank.
Is it working in general, or did something change just now?
Sometimes my page shows up blank, but I click the big down arrow, and then it loads.
Does that work if you try it?
@5ciFiGirl Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately the spinnner shows up for half a second, then it's back to the arrow and no toots.
When I'm on a real computer I'll have a look at the network console what the error is. I won't put the user's name here.
It was worth a try, unfortunately that was the extent of my knowledge. 
@cookie_mumbles will have to take it from here, if you don't find a solution.

The service retrieves the last couple of toots and displays the results after filtering out the boosts. If those are all boosts then the page turns out blank I’m afraid. Could this be the case? Try and click the arrow a couple of times and see if it works then.
I should really build a retrying thing there…

My original posts page needs one arrow press to show anything, because I have few of those, and many boosts.
But my replies page shows results right away, because I have way more of those!
