Amadeus Paulussen<p>Personally, I haven't used the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/bitwigstudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bitwigstudio</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/grid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>grid</span></a> that often until now.<br>However, I recently came across a patch in which Elodia Blackstar attempted to recreate an Oberheim 4 Voice synthesizer in Bitwig's Poly Grid. Impressive stuff. 🤓<br>Check it out here <a href="https://youtu.be/1nPgiGD5U6M?si=qjzAXXPMrBkTz1OD" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/1nPgiGD5U6M?si=qjzAXX</span><span class="invisible">PMrBkTz1OD</span></a> and here <a href="https://bitwiggers.com/presets/54caa0cc-e33b-4364-b899-1933bae6dace/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">bitwiggers.com/presets/54caa0c</span><span class="invisible">c-e33b-4364-b899-1933bae6dace/</span></a><br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a></p>

Flatpak is clearly here to stay, probably would be good for all of us to try to smooth out the kinks, at least for apps where sandboxing makes sense.</p>

@a there are some nice looking controllers, but until my antique #BCF2000 fall to pieces that can wait.

There’s several emulations on my website for #BitwigStudio v4.0+ a Sherman Filterbank, a Sealegs delay thing and a multi-band compressor preset. I have a new complex oscillator inspired by the Buchla 259 that works with v5.0+ - I plan to make a release page for that shortly.

My goodness, I am back in Reason remastering old tracks. OMFG it is no Bitwig Studio, but it’s the DAW that I started in back in the day.

Yeah there’s a ‘Best of Synaptyx [Remastered 2025]’ coming, but it’ll be a while. I’m just figuring out the best way to do it. I’m thinking get the stems out of Reason and master in Bitwig, but it’s kind of fun exercising the old Reason muscle memories, idk, we’ll see how it shakes out.

Ok lady's and gents.

I played (very little, but still) with #BitwigStudio today (got a #bitwig8track license with my last hardware purchase) and I think I will go down this road.

I still need an audio interface. Thinking about the LiveTrack L-8 but am not sure whether spending a little less for an audio interface instead of a full recording solution would be a better idea.

On the other hand... 🤔 This would be future proofing myself, right?

Also I am not yet sure whether I can control the software from the L-8 (but I would be baffled if not), when it comes to faders and knobs...

Here's a little workout that I made just now with performing my #BitwigStudio v4.0 #Buchla259 preset patch into a screen capture session. It's clumsy as I have not set up a controller to operate it and I have practiced exactly not at all on this. I do, however, really like the #BonkWave (or #NotBonkWave ) potential of what is going on here.

Here's the patch if anyone wants to try it: drive.google.com/file/d/1wy0Lj

Fans of #BonkWave and users of #Bitwig please take note.

This #Buchla259 emulation is making me inordinately pleased with the performative promise of this preset. Metallic, FM, modulated tones and atonality are all a nudge of the dial or flick of a state away.

Offered as v1.7, this #BitwigStudio preset (made in v5.0) is available on my website. Please note the newer Bitwig version which was needed for newer Grid features.

Anyone out there want to try it?

Here is something new - I like the sound, and complexity of Don Buchla's various musical instruments. The Buchla 259 Complex Programmable Oscillator is no exception. After looking at some
