Someone taking advantage of a well-placed bench at Maen-du Point in West Cornwall and enjoying the view on a warm July summer's afternoon.
The view extends east along Trebarvah Cliff with Trevean farmstead in the distance.
Five kilometres behind me lies Penzance with the town of Helston around ten kilometres ahead.
Just behind where I'm standing capturing this view is another bench facing in the opposite direction and arguably has an even better vista (I'll post that view in the coming days!).

Godrevy Island in West Cornwall, located at the eastern end of St Ives Bay, a six mile stretch of pristine golden sands.
The iconic location is thought to have inspired Virginia Woolf's novel 'To The Lighthouse'.
Although the actual novel is set on the Isle of Skye, Virginia was no stranger to this far corner of the South West where her father rented a house in nearby St Ives.
Woolf's time spent here are looked upon as perhaps being the happiest times of her life.
As for the lighthouse itself, it was completed in 1859 and located around 300 metres (980 ft) off Godrevy Head.
It occupies the Stones reef, which has been a hazard to shipping for centuries.
