Flop-to-Fame Move!

Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow. I quit my soccer team to start a YouTube channel—total personal growth chaos! At first, cringe flops and mean comments crushed me. But sticking with it taught me overcoming fear, editing hustle, and confidence boost vibes. Now? I mentor new creators. Regret to redemption, baby! #FailForward"

Many thanks to James Dyson of Evolution Jobs for organisation/initiation, and it was a privilege to be part of this alongside the other presenters!

(The Failure I am Embracing: finding ways to speak more slowly and umm/err less 😀)

Also thanks to everyone in Skyscanner for the privilege of being able to learn and iterate on this over many years; #failforward

🎉 Ah, the age-old wisdom of "learning in public" because who doesn't want to fail spectacularly in front of a crowd? 🙈🤦‍♂️ Giles is here to save the day with his #time-traveling blog, hopping from 2024 to 2025 like a caffeinated kangaroo. 🐇📅 Spoiler alert: reading about posting blogs is almost as riveting as watching paint dry. 🎨🕰️

Giles' Blog · On the benefits of learning in publicLearning in public helps me grow as an engineer and seems to benefit others too. Here's why I should do more.

💫 *If you’ve never failed, you’ve never truly tried. You’ve never truly lived for your dreams.*

Failure isn’t something to fear—it’s something to embrace. It’s proof that you’re pushing boundaries, taking risks, and growing stronger with every step. Every stumble is a lesson, every fall is progress. 🌱

So, dare to fail. Dare to feel it. And dare to rise again. Because a life without failure is a life without truly living. 💪✨

# Opsec Fail-Forward 🫣😋

@catsalad just found a screenshot of that time I outed myself publicly...twice 🤣

Context: Cat's initial post was public, so my replies were also public by default 😯 I thought these were DMs because I was half-awake and flustered 😳 This was the first time we had really spoken about anything, but it became quickly obvious that we both had already had crushes on the each other for some time 💘

So, without further ado: "My Best OpSec Fails" aka "How I Met Cat". :neocat_fingerguns:

Having fun experimenting with multi-material printing! Used clear filament embedded in opaque to see how light would move through it. Unfortunately, not as far as I hoped. On the flip side, I was afraid that the 3 sections might fall apart as soon as I removed it, but it all held together! Two unexpected results, but valuable lessons I can use going forward.
