Another ‘scandal - but the wrong one! The real one is that Irish public money founded the acquisition of genetic information and then its transfer to the US - where as has become obvious, a group of pirates who could not give a shit about people are ‘managing’ privacy and the judiciary.

Jonathan Lanfear is chief executive of HiberCell, owner of the Irish company Genuity Science, which controls a huge tranche of Irish genetic data assembled over several years with hefty taxpayer support. The database was assembled when the company was called Genomics Medicine Ireland, but it was later rebranded as Genuity Science and sold to HiberCell, which is based in the US. The business has for years been the source of concern over the private ownership of such sensitive medical data, for which it charges large pharmaceutical companies millions of dollars to access for research purposes.’
