Another #hydroponic experiment time:
Cleaned out the hydroponic machine and planted two pods of lettuce for the summer months, and started experimenting with 1) growing Hibiscus moscheutos from seed and 2) using more sustainable coco coir as the growing medium.

Some red lace mustard and red cabbage #microgreens to have with pasta tonight. We are making #vegan pesto with fresh basil. All the #plants come from my #hydroponic #garden . #gardeningmastodon

I spent my day in the most #punk way possible in 2025 by watching a #documentary on #PBS about the history of the #publiclibrary in the #USA while I #baked #homemade #bread and did #hydroponic #gardening

How is my #hydroponic #vegetable #gardening going? Great! Here is my latest #salad : kale, kale lacinato, Swiss Chard, red tatsoi, red cherry tomatoes and yellow cherry tomatoes. The #hydroponics #gardening is one of the best purchases I have ever made. #gardeningmastodon

I'm working an #aeroponic vertical tower to grow #lettuce , 3D printer but with a solar powered battery to run the pump.
I know I'll need to adjust the run times but trying to work out what the best starting timings should be, I was thinking something like 3 minutes on and 17 off or is that too long off. I'm in the UK so currently climate is quite dry. The controller is programmed by me so I can do any combination, perhaps 1 min on and 6 mins off.

Any suggestions?

Neuer Versuch Pflanzen auf (KS) Katzenstreu (Ytong) wachsen zu lassen.
Topf ist ein Nudelsieb und eine Schüssel. Das passt genau bündig ineinander und unten ist noch was Platz für Wurzeln.
Mischung NL:
Wasser 0,9 + Bittersalz = ec 1,0
+ Dünger 0,5
pH 7,2
Das KS habe ich vorher gesiebt, sodass da nur die dicken Körner drin sind.

Well, all good things must come a new!

Took about an hour, but fully cleaned the hydroponic garden. After 7 months, time to start some new plants for the indoor garden. Doing a few new peppers and few cherry tomatoes plants along bunch of greens.

Tonight's salad from the #hydroponic #garden: kale lacinato, Swiss Chard, red tatsoi, red cherry tomatoes, and yellow cherry #tomatoes. Cherry tomato plants are some of the best #plants to grow hydroponically because they are very easy to grow and each plant will produce about a hundred cherry tomatoes. #gardening #gardeningmastodon #gardens #vegetables

My latest freshly picked #salad from my #hydroponic #garden consisted of kale lacinato, kale, red tatsoi, sweet peppers, Swiss Chard, yellow cherry tomatoes, and red cherry tomatoes. Hopefully soon the outdoor #gardens will be producing too but #gardening is an all year activity at our house. #gardeningmastodon

Aus der soll mal ein Bonsai werden. Macht scharfe kleine Schoten.
Basilikum und Koriander für die Küche und

Ring of Fire update! I got bored and turned some old garage junk (and a cheap pet-water USB pump) into a new #hydroponic setup. It's basically a half-assed 5gal #DWC using a sprinkler head waterfall for oxygenation. I'm feeding A+B with heavy calmag and the ones who can reach it seem happy. (A few have had to spend the night in the old setup getting longer roots.)
In no particular order, there are 2 each of Ghost, Red Hab, Orange Hab, sense a theme?, 2 Yellow Hab, and one White Hab. (After 8 tries, only that one has started. )
If we can get some sun with this warm, I can sanitize enough soil to put the planter out and let the myco and worms get established before planting day.

The biggest problem I have with my #hydroponic #garden is that it produces so much #food that sometimes I can't even use it fast enough. Decided to dry all this #basil and save it for recipes that use it that way. #gardeningmastodon

Before and after photos of trimming back and removing half the 6 month pepper plants from my hydroponic garden. Should give the remaining some extra room to grow before I need to remove them to fully clean the garden.

A fifteen month old thyme #plant from the #hydroponic #garden . Still going strong. I have no idea what the true lifespan is of this plant but I guess we're going to find out. #gardening #gardeningmastodon
