Running errands this morning with my sidekick Chloe 🐶 — she’s off to the groomer while I’m off to shop for patio furniture… and maybe even a new car! 🚗🪑🛒

I made a fun little video lesson teaching how to say “shopping” and “errands” in Hebrew — check it out below!

✨Extra credit if you can guess what kind of car I’m shopping for… drop your guess in the comments! 💬👇

Every morning like clockwork, our trusty metal rooster stands tall in the yard, silently greeting the day like a true professional. 🐓💪

We don’t have real roosters, but this guy? He never misses a morning shift. No feathers, no fuss — just pure decorative dedication. 😂

Wanna say “rooster” in Hebrew? Next time you see a rooster (metal or otherwise), give him a respectful nod and say Shalom, tarnegol! 😉

Can you relate?

That moment when you finally remember a Hebrew word without looking it up… or when you say a full sentence and surprise yourself with how natural it sounds. Pure joy.

Learning Hebrew is full of these little wins—and I live for every one of them with you!
Let’s keep going. One word, one sentence, one celebration at a time.

Boker Tov (Good morning) friends!

Took my Hebrew workbooks out for a breakfast date this morning—because nothing says romance like going over Hebrew letters over coffee and pancakes. They didn’t say much, but I could feel the aleph-bet chemistry.

Wishing you all a delicious morning and equally sweet “dates” with your Hebrew learning today. May your vocab grow as fast as your appetite!

Ever tried learning Hebrew while shopping for food? It’s a delicious challenge!

You walk into the bakery, ready to grab some fresh bread… but suddenly, you’re fumbling for the right words. At the deli, you point and hope for the best. The butcher asks a question—uh-oh, was that about weight or price? Over at the cheese shop, you nod enthusiastically (because cheese is always a yes). The seafood counter? Let’s just say you weren’t expecting a live crab situation. And finally, at the grocery store, you realize… Hebrew labels are a whole new adventure!

Who else has had some funny Hebrew-learning moments while food shopping? Share your stories!

**As a Hebrew teacher with students from diverse backgrounds, I often share lessons that explore traditions from different cultures, including my own. I believe learning about various customs fosters understanding and enriches our perspectives, even if we don’t personally observe them.

My posts are meant to educate and inspire curiosity, free from value judgments or my personal beliefs. This space is open, welcoming, and respectful of all traditions that promote peace and kindness.

I’m grateful to share in this journey with each of you, embracing the beauty of learning together**

In Hebrew, the language beautifully distinguishes between different types of performance spaces in a way that adds clarity and specificity.

For instance, while the word for theatre is תאטרון /te-at-'ron/, when referring to the actual hall or room where performances take place, it becomes אולם תאטרון /oo-'lam te-at-'ron/, combining the words for theatre and hall.

Similarly, a cinema or movie theatre isn't just קולנוע /kol-'no-a/, but rather אולם קולנוע /oo-'lam kol-'no-a/, when specifying the viewing hall itself.

This nuance in Hebrew highlights the importance of the space in which art is experienced, giving it a distinct identity and context.

This a picture of us attending the @creativemorningschs in their beautiful Dock Street theatrefilled with history and character.

This experience truly captures the essence of how spaces dedicated to the arts hold a special place in our cultural landscape.
