Not so lucky on the rust. A bit more extensive than thought. Will be lucky if this boots, and that serial port is toast. #macse30 #retromac #retrocomputing
The card in the SE/30 is a Shiva Etherport with thicknet and coax connectors. Score! Hope it works. #retromac #retrocomputing #macse30

My latest post documents my experience using the MacBatt on two compact Macs, with a request for a solution to a dilemma.
Had to fire up this beauty for a little hit of nostalgia. #retrocomputing #macSE30
The Mac SE/30 had a 256 Kb ROM, that was expandable to 2MB. And Now is wonder if someone, somewhere is trying to create a 2MB ROM, with a boot file-system system like the Mac Classic had… #retrocomputing #macse30 #classicmac
Do you like Pixel Art and Classic Macs and Exploded Technical Drawings?
Check out this exploded view of the Mac SE/30 from the HyperCard Service Manual of the time.
Nothing is what it seems:
Here’s a Mac SE/30 shell with a Pimoroni display (HDMI out), with two gutted Apple 3.5” floppy drive shells, holding assorted SSDs.
(The internals of both floppy drives are toast. The SE/30 logic board, picture tube, etc are safely stored in tupperware in my garage, looking for a new home.)
Finally took the time this evening to make a null modem cable for the //c I have in my collection, expressly because the green screen tube monitor on it seemed ideal as a terminal to my IMSAI 8080 (which also acts as a terminal to the Altair 8800 below it). I need to tie in the PDPs as well. Shown running Zork 1. #retrocomputing #imsai #altair8800 #pdp11 #pdp8 #apple2c #macse30
Aldus PageMaker (1985) marked the beginning of desktop publishing, and in conjunction with it, Apple's Macintosh computers were the standard for many years. In 1994, Adobe acquired Aldus and now offers InDesign for desktop publishing purposes.
#PSA: Classic Macintoshes had a resolution of 512x342, *not* 512x384.
The only 512x384 macs were the IIsi and LC series, only if using the Apple 12" monitor, and the Color Classic.
