I set up a new #google #pixel phone for my friends son, using Grapheneos of course with Play store so he can get the spyware apps. His father has no idea about phones so he left it to me. New account. New phone. New Google account

Tiktok is showing him far right videos within the first day. As we all live in #Manchester it shows that idiot Charlie Veitch that 'interviews' vulnerable people in Piccadilly Gardens and claims he has freedom of speech when he is an absolute parasite.

GrapheneOS just dropped stable Android 16 support for Pixel devices! 🚀🔒 Despite new hurdles from Google, the team’s update includes the TapTrap vulnerability fix and under-the-hood improvements. No flashy features, all about security! #GrapheneOS #Android16 #Pixel #privacy #security

Perhaps another reason to de-Google. I'm working on the transition and it feels right. GrapheneOS is my next step. Google, and much of the Internet, has become far too invasive.

I switched my PCs to Linux years ago. That was a good move for me. It's been a refreshing change.

AI is everywhere now and getting more powerful every day. I'm just trying to claw back some degree of control over my personal data, though I realize it's too little, too late and perhaps fruitless.

De-Googling feels good at least, just like de-Windowing did!

I'd like to hear what steps are others taking...

Are long screen shots broken in Android 15/16 or am I crazy? I've not been able to get a clean extended screenshot in ages.

Whether I start from the top of the area I want to capture or the bottom, I get phantom bars (see screenshot) of the bar opposite of where I start.
