Hello,

For decades The New Deal Cafe in Roosevelt Plaza in Greenbelt, Maryland has offered a mix of vegan and non-vegan options.

It looks like it has come under new management or they changed food vendors.

I went to their site today to plan a visit with a friend and discovered that outside of breakfast they do not have vegan entrees anymore on their **[menu](newdealcafe.com/food-drinks/)**.

The New Deal Cafe has always had a lot of connection with the local community around it and that local community has always been very progressive, as well as supportive of vegan diets.

I think if enough people politely ask The New Deal Cafe to put more vegan entrees back on their menu they will.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) who provide critical services from the National Weather Service to seafood safety is not immune from DOGE's intimidation tactics to fulfill the promise of Project 2025 to eliminate NOAA. But we are NOT going to sit back and watch. On Monday, March 3rd at 10am Congressional leaders and advocates will gather at NOAA HQ in Silver Spring, MD (right at the Silver Spring Metro stop) to tell Trump and Musk to keep their hands off of NOAA. Firing hundreds of NOAA workers is having a severe impact on the day-to-day lives of all Americans. We depend on NOAA workers everyday to warn us of weather events, protect our commercial fisheries, support first-responders when disasters happen, and much more. We have already seen the damage Trump and Musk have done to other critical agencies. We have seen how families and communities have paid a heavy price for so-called "efficiency.” NOAA must be defended!

I hadn't been to Third Hill Brewing in #SilverSpring, #Maryland since opening weekend, so Mrs. Porterman and I stopped by. She had the Fun Time Selzer and loved it. I had the I Hart Stout, a 10.1% ABV imperial stout. Malty, roasty, and smooth. I followed it up with Three Strikes, You're Stout!, a 6.8% ABV American stout. This one reminded me of a black IPA. I just loved the hoppy bitterness, and it's one of the best beers I've had in a very very long time. #ItsAlwaysStoutSeason @beersofmastodon
