Time portals on #LakeOntario

Time #portals do exist in our memories, as individuals or society. They open up in the most unexpected moments, and disappear into the ether as quickly as they appear. Such are the elusive instincts of taking a photograph and storytelling. They are ephemeral moments when the liquid #time pauses but only if we remain attentive and open to the callings of the #temporality of things, of people, of lives lived and to be lived, and the stories they are entangled with.

#Temporality relates to recursive possibilities, materialities and subjectivities of #time where the past is reproduced in a long now but never the same way.

I have taken this photograph over a bridge on July 12, 2025, of #Toronto Metro Line 1 northbound. It reminds me of the old #Istanbul Bakırköy commuter rail line in the late #1970s #1980s.
