Thank you, Arch Linux, again!

This time, though, the forum, not the wiki (which is famous even on other distros).

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=231494 helped me to fix the crazily too-fast IBM nipple #TrackPoint on #Debian #trixie compared to Debian bullseye; the values I’ve settled on after a few tries are:

$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mouse-acceleration.conf
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Trackpoint"
    MatchProduct "TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint"
    Driver "libinput"
    Option "Accel Profile" "flat"
    Option "Accel Speed" "0.33"
EndSection

@kobilacroix @katja I use a #ThinkPad-style #Trackpoint integrated in the 65% #Keyboard but since #Lenovo #enshittified that, #TEX is selling good alternatives...

And yes, I'm mad the KU-1255 was discontinued for a 3x expensive version just so Lenovo doesn't have to offer a wired version and a bluetooth version.

If you can, try a trackpoint espechally when you're more typing than mousing...

@radmin @tera @critakitty yeah, @frameworkcomputer refusing to make a #TrackPoint keyboard is kinda sad.

  • Cuz it's not as if they can't make a call at #Sprintek and maybe even get a custom-coloured rubber cap just to avoid #Lenovo claiming they violate the #UltraNav design / trademark.

Not to mention this isn't unique to even #ThinkPad or #hp #ProBook or #Dell #Latitude & #Getac devices, but even #Sony (#Vaio #P11Z) and #GPD did so...

  • I hope they at least got a holder-hole and lanyard loop option for the #Stylus like the #X230Tablet has...

pcworld.com mentioned one of my many conversations with David Hill in a recent article about the . It's very cool to see these stories get around. I remain optimistic about the future of the TrackPoint.

PCWorldAn ode to Lenovo's TrackPoint, the little red nub with a storied historyWill Lenovo eventually phase out the iconic TrackPoint nub? Only time will tell.

Lenovo ThinkPad X9 is a slim, lightweight laptop that… doesn’t look like a ThinkPad

The Lenovo ThinkPad X9 14 Aura Edition and Lenovo ThinkPad 15 Aura Edition are laptops with up to a 2.8K OLED 120 Hz touchscreen display, up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Lunar Lake processor, and compact designs: both models are about 0.7 inches thick and the 15 inch model weighs just 3.2 pounds while the 14 inch version is just 2.7 pounds.

But the thing that really makes these laptops […]

It is no longer a rumor. The #Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is real, will cost $3500, and I hate it. I also hate the fact that it has been proven true that Lenovo has dropped the legendary #TrackPoint input device. Maybe hate is too strong a word. Let’s go with “I’m done with Lenovo”. #WeirdCES #CES2025 #Tech theverge.com/2025/1/7/24337633
