So tell me SNCF, if you the maximum age to use your services is 120 years old, why does the date picker allow me to select a birthday going back to 1AD?
Today’s #UXFail :
I’m ordering cheques for a bank account, online. The default text for the starting number has four digits. You are only allowed to use three. Of course, you don't find this out until *after* you have hit the “Next" button.
If I am ever in line behind one of these web coders, I'm going to flick their ear, *hard*.
Today’s UI Fail:
I’m playing with a glucometer and associated app. If you enter a note, you must click on two different “Done” buttons. If you click the wrong one first, the note isn’t saved.
The obvious solution to this is to eliminate the button that appears when you are entering text.
(Another gripe about this part of the app is that you can’t adjust the time on a note, another no-brainer)
WHY Mastodon devs: "You know what would be cool? If you could follow people from the search results list with one click."
me: "That helpfulness is greatly reduced if I don't even know _who_ to follow." 
(Also, of course none of these results contain the word "prokop".)

Did a bit of User Experience testing on some #Mastodon #Fediverse printable materials. (thanks to @davidrevoy for the beautiful images)
So far, it's a 100% fail.
Users can not be linked from printable materials to an installable App which they can sign up to a local instance. i.e. If you run an instance and want to hand out invites at the farmers market, no one will be able to easily navigate the app store, the sign up process. There is context breakage.

Adressebjælken på Firefox Mobile bliver da mere og mere useless.
Jeg vil hellere kunne se adressen end have adgang til reader mode, translate og share (vil hellere dele URL'en i hånden end hvad pokker den knap gør).
HSBC have totally fucked up their banking app. It now only stores payees for 13 months, but far worse, if a payee is one that's in their list of UK companies and organisations, they don't store it at all! How did it not occur to them that my version of, say, HMRC's collection account, has my reference number stored in it, and that theirs doesn't? How is the whole app development team so bloody stupid? #UXfail #UX
Slack managed to bloat a simple "Oops, page not found" message into a full-blown, 57MB symphony of redundancy 
, proving once again that over-engineering is the true path to digital enlightenment 
. With more links than a chain mail sweater and less utility than a chocolate teapot, their 404 page is a masterclass in how not to web design. Bravo, Slack!

This Sea-to-Summit packsack to their Ultralight sleeping pad sports some remarkable design fail. On one end, you have access to the rolled up, orange pad, on the other end, it contains a grey pumpsack for super easy inflation. But now, take a guess which end contains what! Exactly, at the grey end you’ll find the pad and at the orange end you’ll find the pumpsack. Now if there just was a way to make it more intuitive!

i hadn't made the connection that Louie Mantia makes here that since macOS removed scrollbars in browsers (mimicking iOS), users no longer have a visual indication of where they are/how long/how much remains in a web page. websites started adding “reading progress bars” at the top of web pages, maybe to compensate for that. scrollbars were (are) awesome. #UXFail

RANT! I have never used Slack. I just didnt need it. Yes Ive ran small tech teams to work on web or app dev, in HE contexts with talented capable students and real clients. Slack wasnt useful. Ive got 3 old workspaces never used. Was it easy to delete them? No. Did it accept fresh passwords? No. Did the email support actually read my email properly? No. Ive now sent a request to nuke everything asap, its my right (GDPR). Stop with this deactivate account bs.
