Thrifted a SECOND vintage copy of "Songs by Tom Lehrer." The second is the EP version -- all the same songs, but on two 7" 45s. Both are early editions, when Lehrer had a private record label and sold them by mail order. $2 at the Friends of the Library bookstore.

Last year, at the same store, I thrifted a boxed set of four, 7-inch 45 rpm records of Peruvian singer Yma Sumac's second album, Legend of the Sun Virgin. That did NOT have all the songs of the LP version.

Two copies of the vinyl record album "Songs by Tom Lehrer," propped up in a small easel on a book shelf. In the back is the 12" LP edition, in front is the double-7" EP edition. Both covers feature the title in cursive at the top center, and a line drawing of Lehrer seated on a piano stool with his back to the viewer, dressed in formal wear, with horns and a tail. His pitchfork is on the floor next to him. He is playing a seemingly infinite piano keyboard that swoops toward the top of the image. The border of the cover is red flames.
