An anti-vaccine activist gave a presentation at the CDC's vaccine advisory committee today about the supposed risks of thimerosal. Lynn Redwood, a nurse practitioner who is president emerita of Children's Health Defense, claimed that the preservative is linked to brain inflammation, which she said was "one of the hallmarks we see in autism." Any association between thimerosal and autism has been widely debunked. Nevertheless, after her presentation, the committee voted 5-1 to recommend that children, adults and pregnant people get thimerosal-free flu vaccines. Here's NBC News's story about it. NBC News · Anti-vaccine activist presents data to RFK Jr.'s reshaped CDC advisory panelBy Aria Bendix

On June 9, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dismissed all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and two days later, announced eight new members including public health contrarians and anti-vaxxers. The fired experts have now written an editorial for JAMA. "We are deeply concerned that these destabilizing decisions, made without clear rationale, may roll back the achievements of US immunization policy, impact people’s access to lifesaving vaccines, and ultimately put US families at risk of dangerous and preventable illnesses," they wrote. Here's @arstechnica's story about it; at the second link, find the JAMA article.

Ars Technica · All 17 fired vaccine advisors unite to blast RFK Jr.’s “destabilizing decisions”By Beth Mole

You know, someone really believes what they say and is trustworthy when they makes an exception for their own kids and suddenly cannot give a straight answer: The U.S. secretary of #AntiVaxx, #rfk_jr, who—the D/HHS of all people—doesn't want to make recommendations

Reason didin't work during covid.
Appeals to community didn't work during covid.
Appeals to morality and ethics didn't work during covid.

So lets try those again with measles, which we had already defeated at great effort and expense of multiple generations, gains erased by the sociopathic idiots.

Learn the lesson, don't repeat the failed strategies hoping they will work this time. These morons are a threat, nothing more.

""The MMR vaccine contains a lot of aborted fetus debris.""

And here we are

This somehow gets lost in the monsoon of #AntiVaxx propaganda, but so much of the opposition comes from the myth that #Vaccines are tainted with #AbortedFetuses

Reading #Wikipedia I see:

"...in the 1950s, scientists at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden propagated a polio virus in fetal cell lines to make into a polio vaccine."

and

"Many other vaccines, including those for chicken pox and rubella, are made using cell lines originally derived from fetal tissue from two pregnancies terminated in the 1960s."

NOTE: not --> aborted fetuses <-- but --> cell lines <--

It's 2025 where I am

But for anti-vaxx #Evangelical #Christians it's still the 1960s
