No one asked but I did get 7 photos for a step-by-step #DIY post if I think someone may be interested. Thin black silicone mats are floppy and stretchy so it’s really hard to measure and cut. I used 3 metal rulers, tape measure, flat cardboard box, cutting boards, pan lid, utility knife and white marker.

My early morning project when the guys are sleeping sound. From 7:30 am after 2 cups strong coffee I started a project that can be nerve-wracking to complete. New silicone mat for the large sink area with black granite counters. These counters shouldn’t have water left to sit in them because of hard water mineral stains and deposits over time.

Also, when cooking it’s nice to be able to set a hot pan on the sink counter! Also bad for counters that can crack from the heat. Silicone mats to the rescue! Before and after photos shown. Now you know why I needed string, rich coffee this morning before I started custom cutting the giant black mat I ordered. #Sink #Counter #GraniteCounter #Silicone #DIY
