Alarith Uhde<p>A quick follow-up. <a href="https://hci.social/tags/MobileHCI2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MobileHCI2025</span></a> is in-person only this year. With our odd conference publication model in <a href="https://hci.social/tags/HCI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HCI</span></a> this creates two issues for authors.</p><p>First, instead of the reduced fee that was available before, online folks now have to pay the full fee (750$ instead of 200$ in 2023) including costs for coffee and lunch. In return, the option to present your work remotely was removed. I think this is not appropriate anymore. Probably too late to change now, but hopefully in the future.</p>
