These DOGE children, lauded as geniuses, by (sometimes) well-meaning people, like Jason Calacanis, are babes, in a bigger woods, of which their feeble little minds can barely grasp, because they don't posses lived experience.

The same can be said about any fucking nepo-sheltered billionaire, like Musk.

They've got a few technical magic tricks, up their sleeves, but so did magic Jesus.

You are being grifted, by wielders of a power your simple mind has been trained to believe that you can never understand.

But, they are not, by any rational measure, "geniuses". They are infantile minds, in possession of the power of influence that will kill thousands of human beings.

The fact that those victims of their folly are faceless, makes these children eugenicists.

It makes them Nazis. Period. And full fucking stop.

DOGE is a NAZI construct. It is made up, and invented, just like every religion is.

Please, for our species' survival, grow up, and reject the lies.

Just a wee one to start us off this week. Don’t let the title of this recently acclaimed four-part miniseries mislead you: Adolescence isn’t just about the volatile mess of a teen’s mind, and its potentially ruinous consequences. It’s a snapshot of a sort of behaviour that can and does exist at any age—including among many adults who unfortunately shape large swaths of our world.

Better Worlds Theory · The "Teenagers" in the Room with Us NowBy M L Clark

#humanism is the only organized path for moving our species forward, out of being propelled by society, politics, and religion, to finding solutions to our species' future.

We have to get along, now, more than ever.

We can not form America into a ball.

America still has great power, but it is being wielded utterly irresponsibly.

Every human being, under America's gaze, shall be afforded due process, from us.

Redress.

Acknowledgement of one's humanity.

That's what democracy means.

After last week’s bout of futility over the value of narrative amid so much global horror - especially when visited upon fellow writers - I sit today with a story by Gabriel García Márquez about living with death, and how strange it can feel to have any signs of life amid so much worldly disaster.

Better Worlds Theory · Between "Death" and Living Death with Gabriel García MárquezBy M L Clark

Desmond Tutu is often quoted as saying, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." This strikes me as an overly simplistic take. What if you are unaware of the situation or aren't sure that it is unjust? Or worse but far too relatable, what if you can barely summon the strength to respond to much of anything? There have to be better ways of promoting activism.

The use of AI can have a negative impact on humans. Well who could have seen that coming. Because, you know, why take human wellbeing and humanity into account when it's clear that the development of technology is all about money and wellbeing of the shareholders.

"To summarize, our study results show that while participants on average were less lonely after the study especially after interacting with an engaging voice-based chatbot, extended daily interactions with AI chatbots can reinforce negative psychosocial outcomes such as decreased socialization."

(...)

"While improving AI policy and establishing guardrails remain crucial, the broader issue lies in ensuring people have strong social support systems in real life. The increasing prevalence of loneliness suggests that focusing solely on technical solutions is insufficient, as human needs are inherently complex. Addressing the psychosocial dimensions of AI use requires a holistic approach that integrates technological safeguards with broader societal interventions aimed at fostering meaningful human connections."

Man and Woman, Edvard Munch, 1905

The news is upsetting for me nowadays and I think that Edvard Munch would understand.

The way he does the carving is awesome, I'm imagining him using a sharpened piece of obsidian that he made in a cave somewhere. Or using the same knife that he used to kill his brother in self-defense. 😁 Seems like there's a dark passion about what he does? I'm sure it's been examined and it's interesting. I'll find a book.

I prefer humans with focus, to those with broad, blurry visions.

That's why I like focusing on science. And atheism. And the Earth. And children's education. And children's safety. And bodily autonomy. And, I still believe in the United States of America.

And freedom, within a single society, sharing a planet that may be dying.

By deriving an “ought” (i.e., all people should live out their self-preservation instinct) from an “is” (i.e., all people have a self-preservation instinct), one commits a fallacy in the sense of Hume’s Law.

#Musk is increasingly leaning toward an egoistic & anti-humanist worldview in the spirit of the #Objectivism philosophy of #AynRand.

In plain terms: he doesn’t give a shit about #humanism #democracy #ruleoflaw.

And… the necessary follow-up to my earlier post this week.

As noted in the preamble, in an ideal world I would've spent more time this week on events outside the US and the Middle East, to help defray the whole ugly Us vs Them paradigm I talk about within… but instead we’re just sitting with the fact that the easiest way to destroy a democracy is to trick people into eroding its core values from within. Pluralism is essential.
