Ollie's Setup Wizard is great, but it should *not* be the task of a theme to enable beginners to build a site they like.

Gutenberg Phase 2 is not really finished until the Site Editor enables beginners.

As of WordPress 6.3 the Site Editor is a good tool for people who know WP and can write a little Custom CSS.

It's not a good tool for beginners who know neither.

Ollie WP shows a possible way to get closer to that goal.

@pixolin That was quite a shock when "Pages" (re)appeared in the Gutenberg plugin a while ago.

And of course it's half baked. You can do a little but not all.

Just like "Navigation", "Styles" and "Library/Patterns".

What is the site editor trying to do?
Replace the "block editor for content of posts and pages"?

Is there anyone we could ask where this is going to?
Or is this plane flying without a final destination?

Until recently (including WP 6.1) the site editor was a confusing place to be (1).

In Gutenberg 14.8 the site editor received a new browse mode and now for the first time there is something like a intuitive workflow (2).

Apparently these changes are based on this vision by James Koster (3):

I hope that the site editor will be developed according to this idea and that e.g. global styles move to the left sidebar asap.
