In Capolago steht dieses etwas kuriose #Denkmal und bei dessen Enthüllung dampften die Züge der #Gotthardbahn vorbei, was vielleicht erklärt, warum das tatsächlich Bedachte für den Unbedarften etwas im Nebel liegt - auch Übersetzungshilfen sind überfordert.
Meine Vermutung ist, dass es um la tipografia elvetica geht - keine Schriftart, sondern um einen #Emigranten-Verlag, der für das #Risorgimento von grosser Bedeutung war, aber auch die Grenzen #schweiz. #Souveränität aufzeigte - wie heute.

Nunzio Pernicone & Fraser Ottanelli's "Assassins Against the Old Era: Italian #Anarchist Violence in Fin de Siècle Europe" shows how liberal democrats supported assassinations during the #Risorgimento period, which influenced anarchist approaches. 1890s bombings were blamed on anarchists, although few likely were anarchist bombs. They were mostly attacks on government buildings, which resulted in very few deaths, especially compared to those in France and Spain. #Reading #Italy
